100% Free Software And Freeware Downloads
Many of the commercial software you find being sold online has a "free" alternative. However, like anything else you have to keep your head up and your eyes open (read the fine print) when looking for and downloading so called "free" software.
Some free programs are very good while others are little more than crappy spinoffs that provide advertising for the people who distribute them. Over time you learn which is which and seperate the wheat from the chaff. I've compiled some of the good ones on this page. The software programs below are free. They are either 100% freeware or shareware that is in my opinion worthwhile and effective. Some of these files are in compressed .zip format. *FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Software
Anytime you transfer files from your PC to a web server you will commonly use an FTP software program. The most important feature for an FTP program is the ability to resume failed transfers from where they left off. I've included a few different choices because you might like one better than the other.
File Zilla FREE FTP Software
Probably one of the better known and more popular 100% FREE FTP Software Programs on the Internet. Has many powerful features like file transfer resume etc. This should be the ONLY FTP software program you will ever need. They keep it up to date and again, there is no charge.
EZ FTP Software
This cool little FTP program allows you to transfer files to and from any hosting server. Basic, simple and easy to use.
Coffee Cup FREE FTP
This and my EZ FTP software above are probably the easiest FTP programs to use. I use and enjoy many of the software programs made by the coffee cup folks. They make some good stuff. Haven't tried their FTP program yet but I'm sure it's good and it's FREE.
FREE EZ HTML Software
If you can use a word processor, you can create a web page with this nice little free .html utility. Nothing fancy but it's easy and it works well. When you need to whip out a web page fast and easy this will do the trick.
Zip and Unzip Software
If you download files from the Internet, many of them are in compressed .zip format. This program allows you to unzip and zip files fast and easy.
Best of all it's 100% Free. I've left this one unzipped just in case you don't have a .zip program. You can use it to unzip all the other downloads on this page! (grin)

About Zipping and Unzipping
Zipping referres to a method of compressing a single file, group of files or even an entire directory structure so it takes up less space and can be transferred from one computer to another much faster. Many backup programs use this compression system to reduce the file size.
